How to censor an image
- Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF image.
- Drag across the image to select the area you want to hide.
- Choose Pixelate, Blur or Black Bar, adjust strength, then press Apply.
- Repeat as needed and download the edited image as PNG.
The editor processes the image in the browser. For sensitive material, always inspect the final downloaded image before sharing it and make sure no uncensored copy or metadata is exposed elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
Is pixelation reversible?
Strong pixelation removes visible detail, but no visual censor method should be treated as a cryptographic security mechanism. For highly sensitive information, a solid opaque cover is usually safer.
Which option is safest for text or numbers?
A fully opaque black bar is the most direct option because it replaces the selected pixels rather than merely obscuring them.
Can I censor several areas?
Yes. Apply one selection, then drag a new selection and repeat.
