How the test works
- Ping: several tiny requests estimate round-trip latency and jitter.
- Download: concurrent test transfers measure how quickly data reaches your browser.
- Upload: generated disposable data is sent to measure outbound throughput.
The test can use a noticeable amount of bandwidth, especially on fast connections. Avoid running it repeatedly on a metered mobile plan.
Frequently asked questions
Why can results change from one test to another?
Wi-Fi interference, background downloads, network congestion, device performance and the path to the test endpoint can all vary from moment to moment.
What is good ping for gaming?
Lower is better. Under about 50 ms often feels responsive, while competitive play generally benefits from even lower latency and stable jitter.
Is this the same as my plan speed?
No. Your plan is an advertised service tier. This test estimates the real throughput your browser can reach at the moment of testing.
